What would your ideal day at work look like?

My ideal day at work would encompass the things I enjoy most about the profession. Client interaction would start my day. It’s important to remember why we’re doing what we do and meeting with clients is the best reminder I can imagine. Then, I would want to strategize with colleagues. It’s sometimes easy to forget that part of this profession involves creativity and person-to-person connections, so taking time with others to come up with creative solutions to problems is a great way to harness creativity and strengthen connections. Finally, my ideal day would end by putting pen to paper and implementing the things I learned and strategies we crafted.

What advice would you give someone interested in the legal profession?

I think the best advice I can give someone interested in the profession is the advice that almost every law student hears but rarely listens to: you have what it takes. There will come times when you may doubt yourself or feel as though you are not where you think you should be. I think every good lawyer will feel that throughout their career, especially when the journey is just beginning and you’re taking those first steps. I think doubt and fear can be a good thing because it means you care and that’s really what this profession takes. A passion. Once you fuel that passion and put in the work you can move past that doubt and thrive. You have what it takes.

What hobby or activity do you wish you had more time for?

Outside of work, one of my favorite hobbies is Dungeons and Dragons. My friends and I started playing after the pandemic and have fallen in love with it. It’s easy to get lost in a story and world you have created. You’re always your own biggest critic so I’m always looking to improve and add to my game so that my friends and I can have fun as they unravel mysteries and explore new places. If only there were more hours in a day!
